EXHIBITION PRODUCER AND DIRECTOR

 

As Manager of Hong Kong based artist Simon Birch and Project Director of the arts organisation Future Industries, Laura produced and directed exhibitions in Hong Kong and China, working with artists on solo exhibiiton projects and large scale collaborative projects involving up to thirty artists. 

 

Each project was presented in an unconventional exhibition space,  where the 'gallery' was created within a temporary structure, chosen and built to work synonomously with the exhibition itself. Each original gallery space became part of the overall exhibition experience and was pivitol in looking at new ways of presenting art and breaking down the paradigms of the conventional gallery experience. 

 

Laura's responsibilites for each project included creative brainstorming, location sourcing, pitching to sponsors, fundraising, production management, design and production of advertising collateral, marketing and PR, production of exhibiiton catalogues, artwork installation, event producing, budget managment, shipping, art work sales, budget managment and reconciliation.
